George Clifford Culmer

Biography

Clifford Culmer is the founding partner of BDO Bahamas and has over 40 years of experience in the accounting profession. He is the first Bahamian to practise as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (and later honored as a Fellow), Clifford established his own accounting firm in the Bahamas in 1977, which is now BDO Bahamas, to capitalize on his expertise and that of his associates. To his immense credit, the firm recently celebrated 32 years of continuous success in providing accounting/ assurance services, insolvencies and corporate recoveries, and business advisory services. As the Senior Partner of BDO Bahamas, Clifford assumes accountability for all aspects of managing the firm. He is a founding member and past president of the Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants which has grown to over 400 members. He was awarded the prestigious designation as the “Executive of the Year” by the Bahamas Financial Services Board for 2002 - 2003 and is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors in London. Clifford wrote " A Short History of the Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants," which provides a history of that body. Standing upon the solid foundation of a 40 plus-year career as a business owner and chartered accountant, Clifford remains committed to providing superior services rendered with integrity.
